  • A PCT application can avoid duplicating efforts and the extra costs of filing a provisional patent in each single country in which you seek protection.
  • Like a Provisional Application for Patent in the United States, it is a placeholder, that gives you an official filing date, and allows you to file a full application later. Many inventors file a PCT application to protect their official filing date, while testing the market for their invention.
